On the 26th June 2007, in the morning at 6:30, the 22nd Birth Anniversary
of the 17th Gyalwa Karmapa started the celebration by The Dharma Chakra
Centre in the traditional manner commencing with the offering of Sang
Sol (Incense Offering & prayers), that was followed by the offering
of the mandala and long life prayers for the Karmapa led by His Eminence
Goshir Gyaltsab Rinpoche.

For this happy occasion, not only Tsurphu Labrang, the Administrative
Office of His Holiness the Karmapa, welcome Chief Guest, but also Govt
of Sikkim Hon'ble Minister D.T Lepcha, Special Guests, many local guests,
the monks and lay devotees, who have gatherer in Rumtek to celebrate the
22nd Birth Anniversary of His Holiness the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa Ogyen
Trinley Dorje.
Ven. Khenpo Kelsang Nyima (KSNI) give an introductory Speech on this auspicious
occasion in Tibetan followed by Umze Woser Rabten to present an introductory
Speech on the auspicious occasion in English.
Speech given by Mr Dhondup Dorji (Tibetan Welfare Officer, the representative
of His Holiness the Dalai Lama), Hon'ble Minister Mr. D.T Lepcha, Hon'ble
MLA Kunga Sangpo Bhutia, Hon'ble Mr Namkha Gyaltsen, Tashi Tsering Bhutia.
The General Secretary of Tsurphu Labrang, the Administrative Office of
His Holiness the Gyalwang Karmapa, Mr. Karma Chungyalpa announced the
various Charitable Activities of Tsurphu Labrang, Dharma Chakra Centre
and also Speech of His Holiness on being total vegetarian, abridged by
Ven. Khenpo Kelsang Nyima.
H.E Goshir Gyaltsab Rinpoche distributed Gifts to Children of Bal Niketan
of Gangtok.
